Selected Projects

  • Organizational Mergers:

    • Provided project management for the merger of two social services nonprofits in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Developed negotiation documents, created and tracked project plans, led project team meetings with senior management and Board members from both organizations; and developed program integration, HR integration, and stakeholder communications plans. 

    • Provided project management for the merger of two homeless services nonprofits in Washington, DC. The merger expanded the acquiring organization’s reach to a second site and increased the number of women it could house directly by 20 percent.

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Facilitated a strategic planning process and developed a strategic plan for a large homeless services nonprofit in DC, engaging multiple stakeholder groups via surveys, interviews, and focus groups.

    • Facilitated a strategic planning process and developed a strategic plan for a crisis services organization in Prince George's County that had recently experienced significant growth and developed a three-year implementation plan to help the organization execute on its goals.

    • Facilitated a strategic planning process and developed a strategic options document for a small, faith-based homeless services organization in DC to help guide Board decision-making on next steps for the organization after an executive leadership change.

  • Program Planning/new program Launches

    • Assisted the state of Maryland Department of Behavioral Health and Maryland crisis system stakeholders in developing a state implementation plan for the launch of 988 (National Suicide Prevention Hotline), by facilitating Coalition meetings, developing project plans, and writing reports, plans, and grants.

    • Provided project management, program design, and stakeholder engagement for the launch and implementation of a public-private partnership focused on investing in solutions to end homelessness in Washington, DC.

    • Designed and implemented a grant-making program for a new family foundation in Washington, DC.

    • Provided research and program design options for an employment program for homeless and low-income women in Washington, DC.

    • Led a project team to write and win a multi-million dollar government contract to open a new 213-bed women’s shelter. This project doubled the number of residents served by the organization, more than doubled its staff size, and nearly doubled its annual budget. Worked with the programs, operations, and finance teams as well as with city agencies to develop and launch the new program and successfully execute rapid organizational growth.

  • EVALUATION SERVICES

    • Conducted a baseline evaluation for programs as a large homeless services nonprofit in DC. Developed a report with performance improvement recommendations and program dashboards to help program staff track performance.

  • Supportive and affordable Housing services

    • Provided permanent supportive housing consulting services for an affordable housing developer in Washington, DC, acting as an advisor and liaison between the property manager and social service providers working on site.

    • Oversaw two multi-million dollar capital renovation projects involving multiple financing sources, including government grants and loans, private financing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and project-based rental subsidies. Created project plans, worked with architects and contractors, negotiated contracts, liaised with the Board of Directors, ensured compliance with government funding regulations, and coordinated with program staff to ensure uninterrupted services to residents.
